The Thayer Center for Health will offer 24/7 emergency services and preserve a long tradition of great care in Waterville.

By converting MaineGeneral Medical Center's Thayer Campus from an inpatient to an outpatient facility, and moving services from the Seton Campus to Thayer, we will offer greater Waterville area residents convenient access to more of the services they need most in one location.

Most of our health care is provided in an outpatient setting, which means no overnight stay in the hospital is required. This includes diagnostic tests and procedures and even many kinds of surgery.

By redesigning Thayer to meet the needs of 21st-century medicine, we will preserve the great tradition of high-quality medicine Thayer represents, keeping it as an important resource for years to come.

We believe the need for outpatient services will grow over the next 10 years. We are confident the Thayer Center for Health will thrive as demand continues to grow for outpatient services.

Construction on the Thayer redesign project is set to start in January 2014 and be completed in Spring 2015.

Visiting a friend or family member who's had a baby at MaineGeneral's New Regional Hospital? This is what the patient corridor likely will look like when the facility opens in December 2013. The pounding roar of the drill and the whine of a diamond wire saw reverberate on Crotch Island, carving off 240-cubic-foot blocks of Deer Isle granite, which will ultimately be carved into some 300 panels that will adorn the exterior of the nursing units at MaineGeneral’s New Regional Hospital in Augusta. Welcome to the Kennebec Savings Bank Lobby at MaineGeneral's New Regional Hospital! The contemporary space will be welcoming to visitors and allow them to find their destination with ease.
